چکیده

Intraoperative line scan diffusion imaging (LSDI) on a 0.5 Tesla interventional MRI was performed during neurosurgery in three patients. Diffusion trace images were obtained in acute ischemic cases. Scan time per slice was 46 seconds and 94 seconds, respectively, for diffusion tensor images. Diagnosis of acutely developed vascular occlusion was confirmed with follow-up scans. White matter tracts were displayed with the principal eigenvectors and provided guidance for the tumor surgery. In all cases, the diagnostic utility of LSDI was established. J. Magn. Reson. Comparison of apparent diffusion coefficient values among different MRI platforms: a multicenter phantom study.

PURPOSE We aimed to compare apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values among magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners from different vendors. MATERIALS AND METHODS We used a custom-made phantom solution consisting of distilled water, 0.9% NaCl, 25% NaCl, and shampoo for diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI) examinations. DW-MRI was performed with similar sequence parameters using six different 1....

HASTE diffusion-weighted MRI for the reliable detection of cholesteatoma.

PURPOSE To assess the detection efficiency of Half-Fourier acquisition single-shot turbo spin-echo (HASTE) diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for cholesteatoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 21 patients with suspected primary (n=16) or recurrent cholesteatoma (n=5) underwent MRI in a 1.5 Tesla scanner using an adapted protocol for cholesteatoma detection that included a co...

Registration in interventional procedures with optical navigator.

Performing interventional procedures in the close proximity to an MR scanner widens the range of operations available for an optical tracking system. In order to gain the full benefits from both unrestricted use of surgical instruments outside the magnet and intraoperative imaging, a method for transferring the registration data of the optical navigator between two locations is required. An opt...

Diffusion tensor imaging of the kidney at 3 Tesla MRI: normative values and repeatability of measurements in healthy volunteers.

PURPOSE To evaluate the feasibility of renal diffusion tensor imaging and determine the normative fractional anisotropy and apparent diffusion coefficient values at 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using parallel imaging and free breathing technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 52 young healthy volunteers with no history of renal disease were included in the study. MRI examinatio...

Silent cerebral emboli following percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect in pediatric patients: a diffusion-weighted MRI study.

PURPOSE The aim of this prospective study was to investigate the incidence of silent cerebrovascular embolic events associated with percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect (ASD) in pediatric patients. METHODS A total of 23 consecutive pediatric patients (mean age, 10.4±3.8 years; range, 4-17 years) admitted for transcatheter closure of ASD were recruited in the study. The patients were s...
